Fun Fold Friday - Lets use some DSP
I am back with an other Fun Fold Friday!I have been having trouble using my DSP as I just don't know what to do with it, so I have made it my goal over the next few months to use up a bunch of my DSP and with cards like this that won't be hard! I have lots of pictures today so lets get to it!
- DSP cut at 5 1/2 X 12
- score at 2, 4, 8 and 10
- fold in at the 4 and 8" marks and then fold back out at the 2 and 10" marks
- open up the card and measure down 2 3/4" from the top of the card along the outside edges
- cut from the top of the 4 and 8" marks to where you marked on the outside edge, save your scraps
- add your outer oval tab and sentiment (I used my new High Five stamp set for this one) and I embellished with candy dots (love those things!)
- glue your scraps to the inside of the card, see above, this gives the card more stability when it is standing up and adds some fun to the inside *because it is already scored it will fold easily too
- cut your inside background 3 1/2 X 5 and your Whisper White 3 1/4 X 4 3/4
- stamp your images and you are done!
Isn't it cute? And really not that hard at all! Have fun with it and enjoy your weekend!

Sweet Treat Box
You all know that my sweet little sis is getting married and I have been busy getting organized for that. I made this box and she loved it so I am going to make a bunch (I believe 150 of them to be exact) for the candy bar they are having at the reception - how good is that going to be!
An other cute box which is going to be great for the little treats that it will hold!
- base cut 7 X 7 square
- score at 2 1/16 on all sides
- Lid, DSP 6X6
- score at 1 1/2 on all sides
- add your embellishments on the top (I used the Flower Patch stamp set at framelits, love it!)
- Ta Da a cute little box!

Card Holder
I have been spending a lot of time making cards lately and have decided to try my hand at making 3D projects. They are just as fun as cards and I love how they can be practical too!! This card box is a perfect example of that, I got the instructions from Pootles.com a great demonstrator from England. It fits 6-8 cards with envelopes depending on the embellishments used on your cards. I am going to make some more so I have somewhere to store my cards!
Here are the dimensions you will need and have fun with it!- card stock 8 1/4 X 11
- score along the long edge at 5 1/4 and 7
- score along the short edge at 1 3/4 and 6 1/2
- fold it all up and add your DSP 3 1/2 X 12 scored at 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 8 3/8, and 10 1/4
Embellish as you like!

Polka Dot Birthday
- Cut four pieces of DSP (two of each) at 2 1/2 X 2
- Crumb Cake sentiment base is 3 X 2 1/2
- Whisper White is 2 3/4 X 2 1/4
- I used the stamp set Delightful Dozen which is now retired but the Remembering Your Birthday set is very close (page 59 of Annual Catalogue)
- I then made a little ribbon tag using the crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon - what a soft flowing ribbon to use!

Splatter Thanks
This card design might look a bit familiar to you, and yes have seen it before. My Upliner Sherry gave me card like this one and I have changed it up to you use what I have. The reason I have reposted this design again was because I wanted to try out the technique of stamping right on the DSP to give it a bit more flare! Fun is what it was!
As I have said in the past I have trouble working with the DSP because 1) I find it hard to cut up the pretty paper and 2) some of them are so busy I don't know what to do with them. This paper today is from the Flashback DSP and I really loved the settle look of the paper. I took out my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped some splatters with Lost Lagoon (love this colour!) and Tangelo Twist a colour that I have never worked with before - out of my comfort zone but I think it turned out okay!A couple flags a piece of ribbon and this card was done - change up the sentiment and this would work very well for a masculine birthday card don't you think?

Pretty Pink
I borrowed this card from my friend, Donna - Thank you! It is so cute and so easy too! A lot of times I don't think to leave the card base "open" for everyone to see. But some tone-on-tone stamping fills up the space very nicely! A little bit of DSP and some ribbon. Beautiful! I will also admit I have yet to make a "tag" with my Stampin stuff (bit of a heads up I will be hosting a Christmas Tag Class should be fun!) I love how she added the small tag to the front of the card - simple and sweet and adds dimension to the front.
Then, BAM, on the inside she adds an other cute tag! Wonderful! I often forget that the inside of my cards need Stampin too and this is a great way to add without always having to put a sentiment.
Great card and thank you again Donna for letting me post it!!

DSP Dots
Today's card was so fast! I started with Hello Honey card stock and decided to run the whole card front through the Big Shot with the Lots of Dots embossing folder. Used up some DSP I had a bit left of (waiting for my order to come in - I am quite low on DSP after all the treat holders I made!) Rich Razzleberry flag background with Whisper White on the front. Sentiment in Hello Honey with a few candy Dots added to finish it all up! This card is great for using up scraps and again simply changing the DSP would change the entire look of the card!

Wonderfully Easy
The name says it all! Wonderfully Easy! Change the DSP and you change the look completely!
- Cut your background 5 X 3 3/4 then chop it into three
- Add your DSP to the top and bottom and your Whisper White to the centre
- Stamp your sentiment
- Using the Itty Bitty Star Punch - I cut three stars in some Blackberry Bliss I had scarps of (bonus!)
- A couple of Rich Razzleberry Dots (I found with the dots that you can't really tell the difference between Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss - although now that I have told you you probably will!)

Star Card
Thought I would share a card I designed today. Here is an other quick 5 minute card! So fast and changing the DSP would give the card a new look. I like to keep "Just Because" cards on hand and send them out to family and friends to let them know I am thinking of them. It is so nice to get mail that isn't a bill and it really just lets them know I care. So easy and quick!
Diana
- Start with your card base, I used Chocolate Chip for mine
- DSP cut at 5 1/2 X 3 (use which ever you have lying around!)
- Add your ribbon and tie a knot or bow, add the ribbon over the "seam" of the DSP to cover it up
- Punch out the stars, add dimensionals
- Stamp Sentiment and you are done!

Pinwheel
This was a fun card to make! And way easier than it looks! Used some of the new DSP - which you can buy now!! So here lets get to it!
- Mossy Meadow 5 1/4 X 4"
- Very Vanilla cut at 5 X 3 3/4" and use the scallop punch along the bottom edge
- Cut two squares of the Mossy Meadow 2 5/8 X 2 5/8, glue these together to make your base for the pinwheel
- Cut 8 pieces of DSP 1 1/4 X 1 1/4
- place them on the pinwheel tucking them behind each other *hint don't glue down squares until you have placed three of them down. Use your TomBow glue and just tack down the ends of the squares, once you have them all placed then use more TomBow to fully glue them down*
- Add a pearl jewel to the centre
- Put some dimensionals on the back add your sentiment and you are done
There you have it. Easy!
Now go and get creative!

Fun Fold Friday
This blogging experience is getting to be a lot of fun! Some were worried (Martha) that I might be trying to do too much by posting every day but really it hasn't been all that bad (spoiler alert: I actually type up a bunch of posts at the same time and then just pick which date I want it to post)
I have decided to start something new!! At least once a month I am going to post Fun Fold Fridays! Can you guess what those posts are going to showcase? Fun Folds! It really is fun to try out different folds and see how you can change up a card just by changing the shape!
I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from an other demonstrator, Lillian Kemp. I LOVED the fold!
As you can see this card uses a fair bit of DSP but it makes it so fun and alive! Of course you don't have to cover up all the card base for a kids birthday card, I figured the more colors the better! The stamp set is Cool Kid from the Celebrate the Everyday Catalogue which is pretty well done (tear) but don't worry the new seasonal catalogue is right around the corner, well August.

The best thing about this card? It still fits into a standard envelop! YEAH!
- Cut the paper at 8 1/5 by 5 1/2 (you can get two for one!)
- along the long edge score at 2", 3 1/8", 5 3/8" and 6 1/2"
- fold the two edges of the two smaller triangle towards the inside of the card
- add your DSP, then using a hole punch, punch two holes where you would like to add your ribbon, run the ribbon through, tie a bow and ta da!
Well there we go. Our first Fun Fold Friday. I think it was a success don't you?
