A Wedding Thank You
Today is a BIG day! I will be getting my Holiday catalogue pre-order today! The Holiday Catalogue is AMAZING and I can't wait to start creating and sharing some of the great new products coming out! But lets get on with the card!
My little sister - Catherine - is getting married and I will be making the Save the Dates, wedding invites and thank you cards - don't worry I will be posting about this adventure while it is under way. Cath and I are still hashing out details with the invites but she has chosen this style for her thank you cards, so I have started to make them up for her. Don't they look so elegant? The colours she has chosen are similar to Elegant Eggplant and Bermuda Bay so half of everything will be in those two colours. This card was actually quite quick to put together. I ran the Elegant Eggplant through the Big Shot with the swirls envelop (which isn't stampin up I am afraid but we all have items in our craft rooms from different places right?) cut them into the flags then added the white and black strip a quick stamp and it was done.
Quick tip: I used my hexagon punch to make the flags! This way I would insure that they were all even and looked the same - I will be sure to post pictures of how you do that in the next few days - once I have the hubby home to hold the camera while I am doing it lol!

Diana
If you would like me to mail you out a catalogue send me an email and I will be sure to get it out to you! Ordering starts on Aug 28 so don't wait!!

Pretty Pink
I borrowed this card from my friend, Donna - Thank you! It is so cute and so easy too! A lot of times I don't think to leave the card base "open" for everyone to see. But some tone-on-tone stamping fills up the space very nicely! A little bit of DSP and some ribbon. Beautiful! I will also admit I have yet to make a "tag" with my Stampin stuff (bit of a heads up I will be hosting a Christmas Tag Class should be fun!) I love how she added the small tag to the front of the card - simple and sweet and adds dimension to the front.
Then, BAM, on the inside she adds an other cute tag! Wonderful! I often forget that the inside of my cards need Stampin too and this is a great way to add without always having to put a sentiment.
Great card and thank you again Donna for letting me post it!!

Circles All Around
You all by now know my motto "quick and easy!!" The easier the better as we all know with children down-time does not come easily! I had a lot of fun whipping up this card and it came together in 5 minutes!
- background colour is Crumb Cake cut at 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
- Whisper White 5 1/4 X 4
- Moonlight DSP punched with my 2 1/2" circle punch
- grabbed old faithful - Work of Art Stamp set with Lost Lagoon and Basic Grey
- finished it off with Lost Lagoon stitched ribbon (can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE this ribbon!!)

Choose Happiness 3
An other one from Sherry and it is a really great card! Not only does it use a great stamp set (Choose Happiness) and great colours (Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist), it has an offset fold! Hopefully you can tell from the photos but the card front is off set to the left so that when the card is closed you are seeing some of the inside of the card (am I making sense or just rambling??)
By off setting the fold you can have part of your embellishments hanging off the card front which adds a bit more dimension to the cards! Love it and a million thanks you to Sherry for giving me these last three cards!!Dee-Litefully Yours,
Diana

Choose Happiness 2
An other one from Sherry today - this card shows that you don't need a lot going on to have a beautiful card. She kept the focal point clustered together which gives punch and the Tangelo Twist and Lost Lagoon make a lovely colour combo
Sorry for the short post again today!

DSP Scraps
Like many of you I have scraps of paper that I save just because it might be big enough for me to use again - its using these scarps that I have trouble with!
This card came together quickly and helped to use up scraps that I had lying around. The DSP sitting on the diagonal just gives this card a little more punch.
As this month is Just Because July I didn't put a sentiment on it so now I can send it to anyone!

All Round Hi
Should be back from camping today - and hopefully we had a good time (I will let you all know tomorrow!) Todays card is one I am quite proud of. It came together in no time and just looks great - if I do say so myself!
If you are like me you have tons of DSP and other "pretty paper" in your stash that you just don't know what to do with. This card is a great way to showcase some of it.
This card was fun to make and just by changing the punch shape you will change the look!
Have a Dee-Liteful Day

- Cut your DSP and top colour (in this case Bermuda Bay) at 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
- use different size circle punches to make "holes" in your top colour.
- Punch 3/4" circles out of complimentary colours found in the DSP - here Real Red and Early Espresso
- Stamp your sentiment on Very Vanilla (which is also my card base) and punch it out - I also layered it on Real Red just to make it pop again.

Basic Black
This card took no time and at all it looks so elegant doesn't it? I started with a Smoky Slate card base - something I haven't done before - I always have to remind myself that the base doesn't have to be white or vanilla. I added the two strips of Real Red on each side, Basic Black was used on the front.
I embossed the Dahalia in Silver on the front and it just pops off the page now! A ribbon in silver and a few rhinestones added just the right finishing touches. I decided not to add a sentiment to this one so it can now be used for any occasion.
I am so Dee-lighted that you joined me today!

DSP Dots
Today's card was so fast! I started with Hello Honey card stock and decided to run the whole card front through the Big Shot with the Lots of Dots embossing folder. Used up some DSP I had a bit left of (waiting for my order to come in - I am quite low on DSP after all the treat holders I made!) Rich Razzleberry flag background with Whisper White on the front. Sentiment in Hello Honey with a few candy Dots added to finish it all up! This card is great for using up scraps and again simply changing the DSP would change the entire look of the card!

Make a Wish
An other clean crisp card for you today. Real Red and Tempting Turquoise were my colors today. I think this makes such a sharp color combo and such a strong impact! An other masculine card I think! Also got to use my new Big Dots embossing folder and I can see myself using it A LOT!
Couple things I wanted to point out today. I used my new stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge, to make a background splash on the sentiment. it just adds a little something and I am trying to use items that are out of my "comfort zone" I also added the "stitching" along the edge of the card and it just gives a little bit more, don't ya think?
Well an other fast card, that I am very happy with

Clean and Bright
Quick post today! Whipped this card up in no time! Clean and bright and could always add more to the "white space". I asked Boo if he thought it needed more and he said it was perfect the way it was. I used a colour combination today - Cherry Cobbler and Delightful Daffodil. Don't they go great together? Stamped in Early Espresso, added an embellishment (something I haven't used before) and I was done!
Hope you all enjoyed this and all enjoy the first day of SUMMER!!!

Dots a Lot
So simple! So quick! This card came together in five minutes and it so nice (if I do say so myself!) Notice the colors? They are new In-Colors again and you are going to be seeing a lot of them because they are my new favourites! For this card, I used my 3/4" circle punch, 1" squares in each color, Word of Art stamp set (again!) and voila! Clean, crisp, simple and neat - my favourite!

Simply Green
First off I started with a piece of Pistachio Pudding Paper (In Color 2013-2015) and ran it through the Texture Boutique to get the stripes embossed onto the card (sorry it didn't show up very well, I will try and get a better camera - Don if you are reading, hint, hint :-). Then I used my 2.5" circle punch. I placed the paper on my card and lightly marked with a pencil where the edges of the circle were, so when I placed the stamp (Lovely As A Tree, with Baked Brown Sugar ink) I knew where to place it.
I then cut a piece of Wild Wasabi Grosgrain Ribbon (sadly this is retiring but the new ribbon in the catalogue will help us all to get over the loss) and tied it around the card. I then used dimensionals all over the back to make it lift up off the card front, creating depth and interest. And that was it! As you can see it was a very easy card to make and you could easily add any sentiment you wanted to the inside. The best part - this could be a masculine card - which are SO HARD to find.
It's been a long day so I going to put my feet up and Dee-light in the quiet of the house.
Until tomorrow
Diana

Scraps
I whipped this card up this afternoon and just had to share it. I used only scarps I had lying in my scrap box (something I like to do every once and a while!) I love how this card all came together - it was fast and quick and used up little bits of scrap. I actually used my hexagon punch to make the flags (great trick and once I figure out how to post a video I will show you all!) I did you a bow (shocking I know!) and secured it in place a glue dot, I find by putting the glue dot it keeps the bow from coming undone. I also wanted to share this card to show you how you can cover up a mistake.
Having a scrap box (I use an old pencil box) right by your work space is a great way to always have a spot to throw those bits of paper that "you just might use again". Once every couple of weeks I go through and only use pieces of scraps to make cards, pages etc. It is wonderful way to challenge yourself and to also make yourself use up the pieces that you had to save! I also find that it allows me to try out different colours together and I have to get a bit more creative when I don't let myself dip into my bigger pieces.
Try diving into your scarps and see what you can come up with! I am sure it will be Dee-vine!
