Fun Fold Friday - Quarter Fold

Fun Fold Friday again!
This card is called a Quarter Fold card and it is really very easy to make! And really has such a different look. You will need two pieces of card stock (or if you prefer one piece of card stock and one piece of DSP which would look very cool too!) I used Pumpkin Pie and Delightful Daffodil.
  • Pumpkin Pie (or what ever you chose to be your back colour) 4 1/4 X 11
  • score on long edge at 2 3/4 X 8 1/4
  • Delightful Daffodil 5 1/2 X 8
  • score on long edge 2 1/8 X 6 3/8
  • line up pieces between the score lines (use your Tom Bow glue so that you can get them lined up properly)
  • use to bone folder to crease the score lines both way (this makes folding it in easier)
  • then fold in the left side, bottom, right side and then the top just like you would the top of a box
  • if you wish to add paper to the front of your card cut two at  2 X 2 1/2 and two at 1 7/8 X 2 5/8
  • the inside panel is 4 X 5 1/4
My mother-in-law is coming today and we are having a Birthday party of Don tomorrow with about 25 people coming! Seeing as this is the long weekend, with a party and family coming and the boys starting school on Monday (my middle  boy is staring Kindergarten! Yikes!)I am not going to be posting for a few days. Have a wonderful last summer weekend and I have some SUPER cards for you next month!

Zig Zag Hello

Quick post today we are getting ready to go camping this weekend and I am so looking forward to it!Something different for you today! I wanted to use up some scarps that I had and this is what I came up with. The colours I used today are Pool Party and Wild Wasabi - they go well together don't they?
I encourage you to use up scarps that you have lying around and to try different colour combos.

The zig-zags are also out of my comfort zone - I find the zig zag DSP hard on the eyes when it is in a big piece; however, cut small like this it has a nice effect! I broke up the space by punching out some starts with my Itty Bitty Punch - love these little guys! And the Deco Labels are quickly becoming a go-to with my Big Shot!

Have a Dee-Liteful Day

Yellow Elegance

Leaving for camping today so here is an other really quick card for you today. No fuss or mess! So here we go
  • So Saffron card base
  • Whisper White cut to 5 X 4; then stamped using the Regarding Dahlias in Hello Honey and So Saffron
  • I double stamped each colour which means - inked my stamp, stamped once and then immediately stamped again - same colour but a shade lighter
  • I cut the Whisper White 1 1/2" from the top and 1 1/2" from the bottom then glued them on to the paper
  • Ran Hello Honey and Whisper White through the Big Shot with my Deco Labels Framelits
  • A couple circle punches, sentiment , rhinestone, and dimensionals
This simple elegant card was so easy to make. Hope you enjoyed it!

DSP Dots

Today's card was so fast! I started with Hello Honey card stock and decided to run the whole card front through the Big Shot with the Lots of Dots embossing folder. Used up some DSP I had a bit left of (waiting for my order to come in - I am quite low on DSP after all the treat holders I made!) Rich Razzleberry flag background with Whisper White on the front. Sentiment in Hello Honey with a few candy Dots added to finish it all up! This card is great for using up scraps and again simply changing the DSP would change the entire look of the card!

Inverse

Whats better than one card in 5 minutes? How about two!!!
  • Pick your two colours and get your card bases ready
  • cut the first background 5 1/4 X 4
  • Cut the second background 5 X 3 3/4
  • Use the postage punch, and the Itty Bitty Flower punch on both colours
  • Attach
  • Add sentiment and rhinestones and you have two cards done!
I am not even kidding when I say I made two of these in less than 5 minutes!

TIP: use the first background (so in this picture the white) to punch out the shapes you need (so the postage punch and flower punches) no one will see that the white isn't "whole" and you won't waste paper - an other reason this card is so fast because you only have to cut the paper once!

Dee-Lited you joined me

Colourful Cat

Quick post today - we are leaving for Drumheller for a few days and the boys are so excited to take Poppa to see the dinosaurs! I was given this card from an other demonstrator and wanted to share it with all of you because of the colours used. These colours - Crushed Curry, Island Indigo and Melon Mambo with a bit of Basic Black make for a very bold card. I love how she used circles of DSP!

Looking forward to a Dee-liteful trip

Seeing Spots

Just Because July is going to start today! All my cards for this month are going to be - you guessed it - Just Because.
My first card of the month was sooo fast! Changing the colour of the card would give a whole different feel as well. For this card
  • Pistachio Pudding background cut 5 1/4 X 4
  • Whisper White 5 X 3 3/4
  • Using the circle stamp from Work of Art in Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride (who knew these colours would go so good together?)
  • Used two different sizes of circles from my Framlits, a splash of colour on the smaller, a sentiment and some pearls and through in a few dimensionals and you are done!
Everyone likes to get mail that isn't a bill - so I challenge you this month to make cards to send to someone "just because" I promise you it will put a smile on their face and make them (and you) feel great!

Colour Cards

I went to my team Meeting last week and got this card set as a gift from my Upliner Sherry - thank you!! I LOVE THEM!!!

They are so simply made but give a big bunch. See how the Colour Chart I shared yesterday would have been helpful in making these cards? I love how each card shows four different shades of each colour family - and how they aren't all from the same colour group (ie. Brights, Regals etc) The ribbon used is the new grosgrain ribbon in the catalogue in the new In Colors - I am totally lovin these new colours and can't get enough of them!

Thanks again Sherry for these great cards and to all of you have a Dee-Litefully creative day!

Hexagon Card

Quick post for today! I decided to play around with my hexagon punch and wasn't really sure where I was going with this card when I started. I had a lot of green scraps and just started punching and laying them out and this is what I came out with. The simplicity of this card and the green right on the white make it look sharp. I raised the sentiment with dimensionals and it just added a touch more!

I should be receiving my starter pack from Stampin Up soon and I can hardly wait to dive in and start creating! I am already getting cards and ideas together and once the hubby gets back I am going to pick a date for my first class! I am super excited and will have many more cards to share with you soon!

I am going to my first Team Meeting tonight for Stampin Up! I am looking forward to meeting other stampers and getting new ideas to share with all of you!

Have a Dee-vinely creative day!
